Giving Technology a Second Life
At Vision Systems, we are committed to sustainability and making eco-friendly choices whenever possible. Through our Big Blue Shed initiative, we repurpose unwanted second-hand equipment from clients and job sites, ensuring they don’t end up in landfills.
Many of these devices are still functional—just older or in average condition. Instead of discarding them, we offer a free service and installation, placing them where they can benefit the community the most.
Big Blue Shed is our way of giving back—helping communities while reducing waste and promoting sustainability. Together, we can make a difference, one repurposed device at a time.
Big Blue Shed in Action
Recently, some of the Vision Systems team spent time installing an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) in Christchurch as part of our Big Blue Shed initiative. We proudly sponsored the project in full, with no charge to the client.
While it was a relatively simple installation, the impact could be significant. Having an AED readily available during a cardiac emergency can help save lives when every second counts.
Projects like this reflect what Big Blue Shed is all about—getting out into the community and using our skills where they can make a genuine difference.
We're incredibly proud of the team for getting behind this initiative and helping create safer communities.

Te Puna Lyttleton Tool Library
Vision Systems donated a Gallagher access control and intruder system and Provision CCTV system to the Tool Library. We had Chris, Etienne, Matt and Tristan donate a day as volunteers to complete the work. A big thanks to Gallagher Security and Security Wholesale for donating some of the security gear!
