Sustainability Strategy

Vision Systems is a New Zealand owned and operated company specialising in electronic security, electrical installation, and data cabling, from planning to installation to ongoing servicing and maintenance throughout New Zealand. We are raising the industry standard, delivering exceptional customer service and have an energetic, engaged and experienced team living our business why of “Simply Making Lives Better”.

One of our company values is to be ‘1% better each day’. This has driven us to look into how we can promote sustainable development and play our part in moving from a traditional linear system to one that is circular, regenerative and inclusive. As part of this, we have engaged Go Well Consulting to develop this sustainability strategy, which sets out our goals for the next three years and breaks those goals down into corresponding targets across the years.

Sustainability Committee Meeting
Sustainability Committee Meeting

Last week the sustainability committee meet to go through our year two actions and set some goals for this year! We are working on a community initiative which we hope to share in a few weeks!

Tree Planting Day
Tree Planting Day

We planted, potted and moved over 730 trees today! As part of our company’s sustainability strategy, we are focused on community team days, helping out where we can to better our community!

Eco Recycling Day
Eco Recycling Day

Frazer, Terry and Lou went to see the process at Reclaim,  who collect our cardboard recycling. But there’s all sorts of recycling, paper, cardboard, plastic and some food waste. A lot is shipped offshore, but it’s still amazing to think how much is diverted from landfills!

Uniform Recycling Initiative
Uniform Recycling Initiative

We’ve recently joined the Westpeak uniform recycling initiative. This is to recycle all old, damaged or unwanted bits of uniform that is shredded, then re-purposed into dog beds for shelters/ spca etc.

Vision Systems Ergonomics Self Assessment
Vision Systems Ergonomics Self Assessment

As office based staff, either full or part time we’d like to have all relevant staff complete a quick ergonomic assessment. This is to help ensure we have the correct set up, equipment and procedures in place. Or start working towards this.
